The trip starts from Tortola, BVI's, by the 6th April 2013 and the Estimated Time of Arrival in Athens, Greece, will be around May, 15th.It's over 5.200 nautical miles, around 40 days, overall! - It's from 23ºN, 63ºW - A quarter of a round the world!
This will be a Sailing Yacht delivery divided in 7 legs.
You can choose to do one, two or more legs - Or the whole trip with a major discount!
No experience is required for crewing, it’s also a great opportunity to do a serious mile building passage, either if you’re working your way up through the RYA certification levels, from Competent Crew up to YM Ocean or you’re looking to gain miles for your ASA log book alternatively you can just sail for the fun of it, tag along!

- The Yacht - JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 54DS:
She has one of the best cockpit, salon and cabins areas in her size range and category.
It’s an elevated cockpit and command area, with all lines redirected to it, which makes handling and manoeuvring easy and extremely safe, even with a small crew. Her 4 double cabins, each with its own bathroom, will allow us to enjoy the crossing in maximum comfort.
A spacious saloon, with panoramic views and a fully equipped galley will allow us to replenish ourselves and put our cooking skills to the test.
Atlantic and Mediterranean crossing!
Crossing the North Atlantic Ocean is a coveted experience for any sailing enthusiast, but it is in fact within the reach of any adventurous person without previous nautical knowledge.
Crossing the Mediterranean is also a special undertaking, an epic Sea of historic ports with beautiful and legendary places.
These are "THE Ocean" and "THE Sea" and you will be crossing them!
A trip like this is a memorable endeavour, unplugged from the fuss of the rest of the world, living in your own world and enjoying life aboard a yacht, surrounded by nothing else but the big blue Ocean, stopping in some fantastic places that will give you great memories from this trip, for life!
All the crew will take part in the daily routines essential for sailing, navigation and life on board a yacht.
It will be between four to five weeks of sailing with the blue Ocean surrounding us and the horizon in full view!

The daily routine of life on board a sailing yacht is composed by watches behind the wheel, sailing, navigating and keeping log, watching for other ships on the horizon and for changes in wind and weather conditions and all the "mother” tasks: cooking, cleaning and even trying to fish... and, of course, plenty of time to rest, relax and enjoy this unique experience!
- Ports and stopovers:
TORTOLA, BVI's - Road Harbour portTortola in the British Virgin Islands, a Paradise on earth, that is were our journey begins!
From Tortola, BVI's - on 6th of April 2013, we'll start our trip.
First we will head North, to avoid beating against the wind, to do a pit stop in Hamilton, Bermuda.
From Bermuda, we'll take advantage of the 'The Gulf Stream' and it's northern extension towards Europe, the "North Atlantic Drift", a powerful, warm, and swift Atlantic Ocean current, which will help us head East towards the Azores.
There we'll stop for refueling and replenish at Horta, Azores and have a Gin’s at the historic Peter's Café Sport, the 100 year-old sailor’s Café, meet up place for all sailors in the world.
The next stopover is Cascais, Portugal, also a “must visit" little town for a sailor, just next to Lisbon !
Here we will meet a few friends, and from Gib we will point to Palma de Mallorca, one of the world's super-yacht capitals of the world!
PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN
Departure from Palma, to soon after pass in Cagliari, Sardegna and then the tiny Ustica island, and head to the North Secily to meet the Aeolian Islands, where Odisseas (Ulisses) also stopped, before crossing the Messina strait.

The final destination, Athens, Greece, will be a few days ahead, but before we reach it, we'll pass the Ionians islands of Kefalonia and Zakinthos and the historic Corinth channel.
Prices include: Captain, 1st mate, fuel, safety equipment and in general everything needed for sailing of the yacht on such big crossing.
Prices do not include: Travel to/from embarking and disembarking ports, moorings or port fees, food and drink, customs fees, visas, communications (there will be a satellite pone available but the calls are not included) and any other concept not specifically mentioned.
- ETD, Ports, Estimated length and Prices:
In order to facilitate your booking, a a first payment of 25% needs to be made.The remaining balance can be paid in installments. The total balance must be paid before embarkation.
- Getting There:
In all the ports that this passage is divided, crew members can be replaced, just contact for fine tune details and get the ETA or ETD in the ports you need.
In case you are considering doing the whole trip or just the whole Atlantic, Road Harbour Port, Tortola, BVIs, is the departure point for this journey. The airport is called Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (code EIS), formerly Beef Island Airport.
THERE ARE NO DIRECT FLIGHTS TO TORTOLA FROM THE EU OR THE US.
You can fly to any other island in the Caribbean and get to the BVI’s easily by plane or boat.
